Unknown breed / mixed (long coat) : : Female : : Senior : : Large Australian Shepard Mix
Gertie was found abandoned at the Gilbert dog park on a hot summer day with no shade or water in sight. Depite this, she was still friendly and lovable with both people and dogs. She is housetrained, likes to swim, rides great in the car and is very outgoing with everyone she meets and great with kids. She is a bit over weight and will need an active family to help her shed some of those pounds. She is stunning in person wih the beautiful markings and coloration of an Australian Shepherd and the disposition of a Lab. She is very gentle and tolerant, as well as good with children. She will be a wonderful addition to a loving home. Here is a note from her foster: Reba is 80 lbs of pure love. Poor girl was left at a dog park with no shade and no water. Thankfully she was rescued and is now in foster care. Reba knows basic commands (sit, shake, down) and uses the doggy door. She was a little food aggressive the first couple of days, but soon got over that. Once she realized she was going to be fed on a regular basis, she decided she didn't have to eat everyone's food. She is an older girl, around 4-6 yrs old. Her favorite sport is laying on the cool tile and resting. She gets along great with the other dogs, but hasn't been around cats or kids yet. Cannot imagine her not getting along with children. She wants to be petted and loved constantly. Reba minds very well. She would make a great addition to a family that does not want an active companion, but one that just likes to lay around and give and receive lots and lots of love.
