Little Piper and brother Cub were found in the middle of a busy street. Thats right - in the middle of the street. A kind samaritan saw another car dump Piper and Cub in the road. He drove to the median and grabbed these terrified babies before they came into harm's way. In Arizona, the summer months bring more than heat -- they bring kitten season. So many people do not spay or neuter their animals. When pets have babies, we have learned that many people in the Valley interpret the word "litter" to mean trash. Kittens are thrown out of car windows, dumped in the middle of the road or confined in bags or boxes and dropped in trash bins. But we know that kittens are not trash. They are living beings who deserve care and compassion. Piper and Cub are named after the Piper Cub aircraft because both boys fly through the air with the greatest of ease when playing. Initially hesitant, the boys warm up fast when you cuddle them. They both have gentle demeanors and will do well in a quiet household where all humans are old enough to have impulse control. These two do not have to go home together, but if they do, we won't complain.
