FLOCK was an "animal rescue facility" on a two-acre plot of land. As reported on Best Friends Animal Sanctuary's website, "A volunteer tipped off county officers to the inhumane conditions inside the two-acre facility in Pahrump. The compound, surrounded by a 12-foot-high fence topped with barbed wire, was inhospitable desert landscape where the temperature often soared to 120 degrees. , Most of the cats were severely malnourished, some near death. They suffered from upper respiratory illnesses as well as ear mites, tapeworm, rotten teeth and gums, open wounds or eye infections. At least 40 died because they were so sick and weak. , ?This is the worst I?ve seen in terms of animal cruelty and neglect,? says Mead, who was on-site at the beginning of the rescue. ?When we got there, your eyes would water from the smell of urine and feces, and there were thousands of flies in every building.? , Karma is one of the lucky cats to come out of FLOCK in Pahrump. She came out of the facility scared, skinny and skittish but relatively healthy. She is a very friendly girl but will hide when startled. She is a sweet sweet lap cat who doesnt seem to be holding any grudges for the neglect she has received in her life. Karma is a true sweet heart who gets along well with other felines. She will likely accept sharing her home with a canine companion if properly introduced. Given her past circumstances, we ask that all humans in the home be old enough to have impulse control. Karma has come out of nightmarish situation - now she needs a home where all her kitty cat dreams may come true.
