Grey and White

All around dogs were barking and cats were crying. In the midst of it all, in a cold cage, Petal sat quietly, taking it all in. She was a round bundle of white fur with demure spots of grey. She blinked, stunned that she was in this place. Kittens reached through the bars, struggling for human contact. Scared cats huddled in their litter boxes. But Petal sat still, confident that someone would see her as special and save her. We sure did. Petal is a gentle little cat who loves other kitties and welcomes all human affection. She was found as a stray and brought to the pound. The only comment on her chart from the person who brought her in was, "Sweet cat. I found her and can't keep her.", Petal is shaped like a little purry motorboat . . . round and solid. She is one of those animals who exudes peace. She is serene and as she knows, quite special. The person who brings her home is adopting a cat who is queen amongst her species. She is too special to be given the name of an individual flower. We named her Petal because she is one of the most beautiful cats we were able to save today.
