Chihuahua Mix
Pixie is an interesting little dog. She bonds very, very, very deeply with her humans. She is a sweetheart when in her comfort zone and will make a great pet for someone who wants to be worshiped. However, she is not going to be easily adopted. WE KNOW how she is in the home. But she doesn't present well in stressful situations. Typical of the chihuahua breed, she is territorial and will snap when she is scared. NOW DON'T FREAK OUT -- Pixie is not aggressive. She has been abused, clearly. Over time, we have no doubt she will learn to trust all humans. But it will take patience and responsible, gentle handling. Pixie is a love in her foster home. She loves to sit on laps, cuddle and sleep with her favorite humans. But if a stranger comes into the home, she will not approach them. To her, strangers mean danger. If an unwelcome person forces attention on her, she can get nippy. For anyone who has ever owned a prickly yet precious little dog, Pixie will make a perfect match. She will love someone until the cows come home, so long as she knows you and feels safe. If she doesn't know you, give her a few moments to warm up to you and let her come to you in her own time.
