Boxer / Mixed (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Medium
Laila found herself on the pre-euthanasia list at the county shelter due to fear. As with so many other dogs who end up at the shelter, she was scared and behaved in a way that is entirely out of character due to that fear. She wanted nothing to do with anyone that approached her, and cowered in the corner of her run. After just a few days in a loving Paw Placement foster home, Laila was a different dog. Laila adores people - something that humans weren't able to see in the shelter environment - and prefers to be by her human's side whenever possible. She is playful and affectionate, cuddly and gentle, friendly and easy going. Laila can often be found playing with a toy or tennis ball by herself, tossing it in the air, chasing it, romping and frolicking, perfectly content and happy to keep herself entertained. She then returns to her human's side, lying at her person's feet or curled up by their side. Though she seems to enjoy the company of the other dogs, Laila clearly did not have a lot of experience with dogs before she came to us, and has shown us she'd prefer to be placed with dogs her size or larger. Laila would also be perfectly happy as an only dog. Laila is a tiny boxer mix at under 40 pounds and her gorgeous coat leads us to believe she may be mixed with cattle dog. Laila is crate and house trained in her foster home. If you are interested in adding Laila to your forever family, please complete an adoption application.
