Tipsy and her brother Flipper were abandoned at a shelter at just two weeks old. The whereabouts of mom and any other siblings are unknown and, thankfully, the shelter volunteers kept these babies safe and got them to Paw Placement quickly. We eagerly welcomed them and they've been raised by their dedicated foster mom ever since.
Tipsy is spunky, friendly, confident, energetic and playful. She adores her doggie foster siblings and she'd prefer a home with a doggie playmate or two. Tipsy is smart and eager to please, and is working on her crate and house training in her foster home. Of course, as with all young puppies, she'll require lots of continued training and socialization in her forever home.
Tipsy's breed is an absolute mystery; we expect she'll be medium/large size (50 pounds, give or take 10 pounds) but, when we don't have parents, it's impossible to guarantee adult size so, if this is important to you, Tipsy may not be the best match for you. Tipsy requires a house with a yard; she is not appropriate for an apartment type setting.
A note from foster mom: She's very adventurous, she doesn't need someone by her side for reassurance in the least bit. She'll figure things out for herself and get back to you lol. She's started going into her kennel on her own for a treat, and she is starting to go by the door for potty breaks so as long as someone continues working with her the way we have, her potential is limitless. Even as young as she is, that's so obvious when you meet her. She's clever, and sassy... usually throws out a little growl when I pick her up, but she greets my face with all love and kisses. She's got some attitude, but I mean that in the best way. She can keep up with the big dogs no problem, and I think she'll integrate into anyone's pack easily. She ready to dog.
Please note: socializing dogs, especially young dogs, is critical to their development. Puppies need to have positive experiences with new people, places, sounds, dogs on a WEEKLY basis to ensure they do not grow into insecure, fearful or even aggressive adult dogs. Please consider this when adopting during this pandemic. Socialization is currently more difficult, but it isn't any less important, so please be sure you can fulfill this need in a new dog before committing to adopt.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application. Because we are still understaffed due to COVID19, we will only be able to email those applicants that are approved to schedule a meet and greet. Thank you in advance for your understanding if you don't hear back from us regarding your application.
