Gia is a stray who found her way to Paw Placement while extremely pregnant. Shortly after intake, she gave birth to 8 healthy puppies. Dad must have been a larger dog because the pups weren't small and weaning a litter of 8 large puppies, at only 24 pounds, drained her. She developed demodex and, despite meals of protein and fats every day, in addition to 24/7 kibble, she lost too much weight. When pups were just over 3 weeks, our trusted vet decided she needed to stop nursing and focus on her own health. A few weeks later, mom has gained a few pounds, her demodex is nearly gone, and she's a much happier and carefree girl!

Gia is a happy, outgoing, playful, energetic, friendly and affectionate young girl. She's still very much a silly, goofy puppy, especially now that her pups are weaned. Our vets aged Gia at around a year, and her foster says she is still very much a puppy with her playful and goofy spirit!
